Accessible Chicago Website Launches, February 3, 2005

SPECIAL NEEDS MOM LAUNCHES A WEBSITE FEATURING WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE CHICAGO ATTRACTIONS.

Special needs mom creates a website attracting families and individuals with wheelchairs to the Windy City.

INVERNESS IL, February 3, 2005. In an effort to detail how wheelchair users can enjoy many of the great places in Chicago, Catherine Marsden designed and published a website called Accessible Chicago. The new website allows users to pick from one of five trips, which can be easily made with a wheelchair. Site users can see pictures of each attraction as well as gain detailed instructions such as where to park and which elevators to take. Only trips the special needs mom has gone on personally with her 11 year-old daughter who is in a wheelchair can be found on Accessible Chicago. "People who live in the suburbs sometimes feel foreign in Chicago. Just imagine if you had a wheelchair to negotiate as well as finding your way around. I wanted to create a website that explains just how easy it is to enjoy one of the most beautiful cities in the world even if you have a wheelchair." explains Accessible Chicago founder, Catherine Marsden.
