Palmer House Hilton
Although built in 1871, the Palmer House Hilton offers several amenities for those with disabilities. Currently, the Palmer House offers 26 ADA compliant rooms before its major renovation scheduled to be completed at the end of 2006.

Accessible rooms offer TTY, roll-in showers and grab bars. The hotel offers a wheelchair accessible swimming pool and health club and over 110,000 square feet of accessible meeting space. The Palmer House Hilton is also animal friendly for those with sight dogs and therapy dogs. Serving as a model for other hotels across the country, all staff members go through disability sensitivity training upon being hired.

Secondly, you cannot beat the location of this hotel to take advantage of other Accessible Chicago trips. For instance, Millennium Park,  and The Art Institute are located just blocks away, and the Chicago Lakefront is located just a mile away. Palmer House is situated in the center of the Theater District and surrounded by the fine dining and high- energy entertainment venues of downtown Chicago. You can walk to Chicago Symphony Center from the front of the hotel.

Finally, users do not have to venture out of the a Beaux Arts-style hotel  to have a great time. Fashionable boutiques and gift shops located beneath the hotel lobby are just an elevator ride away.
The Big Downtown Restaurant
offers sandwiches, ribs, pizza and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The French Quarter Restaurant offers fine dining and will be readily accessible once the Palmer House renovation is complete.
